Early Literacy Programs at Library Vacation Week
Parents of preschoolers from birth to age 5 are invited to two early
literacy programs that Children's Librarian Mrs. Brousseau will offer
at the library this coming week:
Every Child Ready to Read: early literacy information for parents of
prechoolers, on Tuesday, April 16th from 11 to 12 PM. In this casual
get-together (children welcome to come too!), we'll talk about what
early literacy is exactly and Mrs. B will show you 5 easy ways you can
foster early literacy skills in your baby or preschooler. Come and see
some great new materials and fun ways to help your child learn!
and
Fun with Letters for Parents and Preschoolers on Thursday,
April 18th from 6 to 7 PM. We'll explore ways to have some
language fun with letters to foster great early literacy skills!
Children may accompany parents (and we'll have salad and
pizza too).
These programs are made possible by a state LSTA grant to the
library.
To register, please call 860-871-3620 or contact:

Young Authors' Day

original creations at the Library's annual Young Authors’ Day,
on Saturday, April 6th from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
At this fun event, the aspiring writers read aloud an original poem
or short prose piece (1 to 2 pages) to the audience at the library.
