On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! 2016 Summer Reading Program

Tthis year’s Summer Reading Program, On Your Mark, Get Set… Read!, will start the first full day of summer vacation.  All students entering grades K to 9 are eligible;  books read count toward the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge for school in the fall.  Sign up online and log in all the titles you read at: http://ct.evanced.info/tolland/sr/homepage.asp .   TumbleBooks count too!: all books read on TumbleBooks, the library’s e-book service for kids, also count for summer reading!  Go to: http://www.tolland.org/library/pages/kids-teens  and click on the TumbleBooks link (you’ll need to enter your library card number to sign in).

First Grade Field Trips to Library

All 9 first grades from Birch Grove Primary School visited Tolland Public Library the week of May 2nd.   After a brief bus ride from school, each class of students toured the children's section of the library with the children's librarian, Mrs. Brousseau, as well as receiving first library cards and selecting one book to charge out and take home.   Tolland's first graders are well prepared for some summer reading, and were all invited to take part in On Your Mark, Get Set... Read!, this summer's reading program which will begin the 1st day of summer vacation on June 17th.
